A place of joy and growth for children in need

Our mission is to provide healing, hope and a future for children in need, to the glory of The Lord Jesus Christ.

At Shiloh Garden, children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned, or whose parents are simply unable to care for them, find a haven of love and a chance to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

Serving the Louisville, Kentucky and surrounding areas, Shiloh Garden will give each child and family we serve a community to come alongside them, creating an environment of love, care, structure, and support to help build lasting relationships.

Our Services

By working with the foster care system and collaborating with local churches, we can help bring about real, enduring change to the lives of hurting children and families.

Our current focus of service is centered around transforming the view and utilization of respite care for foster and kinship families by providing a comprehensive respite program. Through a tailored offering and by redefining the view and utilization of respite care, we can create a proactive, structured, healthy environment of love and support for foster and kinship families and the children in their care. In doing so, we reduce burnout, prolong placement stability, and create self-reinforcing relationships of strength.

Additional services will include community engagement opportunities for foster and kinship families.

The Need in Our Community

Given the high rates of child abuse, neglect, family instability, homelessness, drug addiction, parent incarceration, and poverty, the need for safe and stable homes for children across Kentucky continues to grow.

Foster parents often find themselves overwhelmed and feeling isolated as they seek to help meet the needs of these children - burnout is over 50% for first-year foster parents. Kinship parents are often even less supported than foster parents, without the financial or community resources provided to foster parents. Leaving these needs unmet results in higher burnout of foster and kinship parents, more disruptions for the vulnerable children, and creates a cycle of increasing acuity of need and decreasing supply of care.

Together with community partners, Shiloh Garden is focused on breaking this cycle and helping to bring about real, enduring change to children and families.
